Garage Rotterdam is a medium-sized exhibition space for contemporary art. Located in a unique location in the center of Rotterdam, an old Volkswagen Garage was transformed in 2011 by architect Remy Meijers into a 500m2 non-profit art space with coffee bar.
Garage Rotterdam programs four quality exhibitions a year, offering a stage to local and international talent. The exhibitions – thematic in nature – are curated by different curators who are associated with Garage Rotterdam for 1.5 years with a total of three exhibitions. Our current curators are Reza Afisina & reinaart vanhoe and Nadine van den Bosch.
The exhibition program is complemented by a carefully curated public program, in which depth is central. Fuel is a recurring substantive program accompanying the exhibitions of Garage Rotterdam; with lectures, conversations, music and performances. During the culinary evening Natafelen, chef Marnix Benschop prepares a delicious four-course menu. Before and after dinner there is always the opportunity to visit the exhibition.
